Common Questions About Countertops & Kitchen Remodels

  • Do you provide free in-home estimates?

    Yes. We come to your home to measure your future countertop and provide estimates based upon our templates. Please call 240-821-5257 to schedule your free consultation or fill out our contact submission form to request an estimate.

  • Can I select the granite slabs or remnants?

    Yes. You may select full granite slabs from our stone warehouses or from stoneyards located around the mid-Atlantic region.  Ask about special deals on countertops from select remnants.

  • What type of countertop material do you offer?

    We have a large selection of natural stones, natural quartz, engineered stones, and solid surface materials. Selection includes Granite, Silestone, Dekton, Cambria, Marble, Viatera, Q Quartz, Ceasarstone, and more.

  • Do you have images for the different material colors?

    Yes. View our product pages to see thumbnails of the many beautiful colors we offer.

  • How long does the process take?

    We will install your new countertops in a few hours with scheduled appointments in the morning or afternoon. The entire process, from template to install, can occur in as little as five business days.

  • Do I have to remove my old countertops prior to template?

    No. We can template on top of your existing countertops. 

  • What do I need to do before you template?

    Just clear your countertops of any loose items such as jars, appliances, papers, cookbooks, etc.

  • How are my current countertops removed prior to install?

    Counter Culture offers a Tear Out and Reconnect Service that includes all necessary tear-out and plumbing disconnect/reconnect services for a smooth, easy job.

  • What about utility connections after my counters are installed?

    We offer all of these services for your convenience and will be happy to quote a price for your specific needs. 

  • Do I get to select my granite slabs?

    Yes. You can visit our showrooms at 11339 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring MD, 4 North Point Commons Blvd., Seaford Maryland and 1 Ironside Ct., Willingboro NJ to view samples and select stone, or you may purchase your slabs from stoneyards around the mid-Atlantic.

  • Is there a warranty associated with your granite countertops?

    Yes. New granite countertops from Counter Culture come with a one-year warranty on labor. Stain warranties are also offered by specific Quartz manufacturers.

  • Do I have to re-seal my granite countertops?

    No. We use a unique sealant that will not wash or wear away.

  • How do I clean my new granite countertops?

    Simply use soapy water or a gentle household cleaner.

  • Should I supply measurements for my countertop estimate?

    We can give an estimate based upon general dimensions, quoting various types of stone and price groups. Final quotes are generated after in-home templates. If you need help, a Counter Culture representative can assist you with the measuring process.

  • If I’m using a contractor, are they involved in this process?

    Yes. We will need your contractor to assist us in scheduling your template and install. You can include him in the quoting and selection process at a vendor store yard or our showroom if you like, but that isn’t necessary.
